Eva-I told you we shouldn't have bought this house.Now we are stuck with this place and a huge mortgage.
Arek-How could I have known that it was going to be such a lousy deal.I never would have singned the papers.The broker gave me a snow job and then his assistant talked me into buying it.The bank rates were down back then.You had it with throwing money away on rent.
Eva-We shouldn't have rushed into it so recklessly.Now we must been blind.We should've listened to my father when he tried to talk us out of buying this old house.He was right.He said that we would have a lot of problems and that the upkeep of this old place would do us in.Beside he knows that both of us are all thumbs when it comes to fixing things around the place.
Arek-maybe you should have married that handyman who was a friend of your brother's.You wouldn't have had any problems with the house repairs. He would've done the plumbing job himself and saved you twelve hundred dollars.He might even have stopped the ceiling from caving in.I guess you missed out one a gtear opportunity.
Eva-What was who I married got to do with this? We both are useless when it comes to repairs, and besides, we married, because we loved each other.What are going to do? Did you hear back from the electrican?
Arek-The house needs to be completely rewired, and he has to run some cables to the main box in the basement.I guess it should've be done before we put in all the appliances.He's going to have to do some driling through the wall. He says that electric panel must have been set in correctly the first time around. And there's a couple of others things ,too.He hasn't rung up all the costs yet, but he said that he would cut me a deal.After all, he's been living off our business for quite a while. I think that we deserve a break.
Eva-We certainly do.And maybe dad will come over and stay with us for a while.I'm sure he could help a lot with some of the more minor repairs that need to be done.
