Jules' undersea lodge.
Have you ever woken up to see a pair of angelfish looking at you outside your bedroom window? Have you ever dived 21 feet below the surface of the sea to reach your hotel? If not, then you've never visited Jules' Undersea Lodge! Named in honour of Jules Verne, author of the classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the Lodge is in Key Largo, Florida and do far it is the world's only underwater hotel. Staying here is quite an experience as guests have the opportunity to relax, do scuba diving and get to know the underwater world that so few of us have ever visited.

REPORTER:Good evening, Mr Shaw. I'm from the Daily Herald. Can you tell me what happened to you in your taxi today?
Mr SHAW: Well... it was about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I had finished my shift and I was just thinking about going home....
REPORTER: Go on...
Mr SHAW: .... when suddenly something fell out of the sky and hit my car. I was very surprised!
REPORTER: Wow! What was it?
Mr SHAW: A huge tortoise!
REPORTER: That's unbelievable!
Mr SHAW: I know! I stopped the car and got out. The tortoise was lying on the ground and two people were running towards it!
REPORTER: Who were they?
Mr SHAW: The tortoise's owners. It seems that it had been crawling on the balcony of their tenth floor apartment when it fell off and onto my car.
REPORTER: Oh dear! That's terrible! So how was the tortoise... and your car??
Mr SHAW: Well, the tortoise was fine but my car was badly damaged.
REPORTER: How do you fell now, Mr Shaw?
Mr SHAW: Well, I'm still a bit shocked!
REPORTER: I'm not suprised! What a story, Mr Shaw! Thank you for sharing it with us!

About half of British young people aged 12 to 16 read teen magazines! Two of the most popular magazines for girls are “Sugar” and “Bliss”. They have glossy, colourful covers and include beauty and fashion, celebrity gossip, real-life stories, horoscopes, quizzes and problem pages. Of course, boys don’t usually find these magazines very interesting! Instead, they buy music magazines like “NME” or magazines about sport, like ‘Shoot’ or ‘Match’.
Usually, teen magazines contain a lot of language that only teenagers use! They might use ‘celeb’ instead of celebrity, for example, or ‘fave’ instead of favourite. They also say ‘lads’ instead of ‘boys’, ‘dosh’ instead of ‘money’ and ‘natter’ instead of ‘talk to your friends’ ! This makes the magazines more attractive to teenagers and easier to understand.
On a more serious note though, a lot of girls magazines can help teens find solutions to problems they don’t feel comfortable discussing with their parents. That’s why the problem pages in these magazines are very popular. In fact, many teenage girls buy them just for the problem page. How about you? What do you like most in your favourite magazines???

Podwodna chatka (albo schronienie, loża, domek... ciężko mi dopasować tłumaczenie słowa lodge) Juliusza.
Czy kiedykolwiek budziliście się aby zobaczyć parę anglefish (jakiś gatunek rekina) gapiących się na was przez okno waszej sypialni? Czy kiedykolwiek nurkowaliście 21 stóp pod powierzchnią oceanu (niecałe 6,5 metra) żeby dotrzeć do swojego hotelu? Jeśli nie, to znaczy, że nigdy nie odwiedzaliście Podwodnej Chatki Juliusza! Nazwana tak na cześć Juliusza Verna, autora noweli "Dwadzieścia tysięcy mil podmorskiej żeglugi", Chatka znajduje się w Key Largo, na Florydzie i jak na razie jest to jedyny podwodny hotel na świecie. Przebywanie tu jest całkiem niezłym przeżyciem (doświadczeniem), podczas którego goście mają okazję (szansę) zrelaksować się, nurkować i poznawać podwodny świat, który tak niewielu z nas kiedykolwiek odwiedziło.

DZIENNIKARZ: To nieprawdopodobne!
Pan SHAW: Wiem! Zatrzymałem samochód i wysiadłem. Żółw leżał na ziemi i dwoje ludzi biegło w jego kierunku!
DZIENNIKARZ: Kim oni byli?
Pan SHAW: Właścicielami żółwia. Wyglądało na to, że turlał się po balkonie ich mieszkania na 10 piętrze i wypadł wprost na mój samochód.
DZIENNIKARZ: Ojejku! To okropne! Co się stało z żółwiem... i pańskim samochodem?
Pan SHAW: No więc z żółwiem było w porządku, ale mój samochód został mocno uszkodzony.

Około połowa młodych Brytyjczyków między 12 a 16 rokiem życia czyta magazyny dla młodzieży! Dwa najpopularniejsze magazyny dla dziewcząt to "Sugar" i "Bliss". Mają lśniące, kolorowe okładki i zawierają piękno i modę, plotki o celebrytach, historie z życia wzięte, horoskopy, strony z zagadkami i problemami. Oczywiście chłopców takie magazyny za bardzo nie interesują! Zamiast tego, kupują magazyny takie jak "NME" albo magazyny o sporcie, jak "Schoot" albo "Match".
Zazwyczaj magazyny młodzieżowe zawierają wiele wyrażeń, które tylko nastolatki potrafią zrozumieć. Mogą na przykład używać "celeb" zamiast celebryta, lub "ulub" zamiast ulubiony. Mówią również "lads" (to znaczy tyle samo co "boys" czyli chłopcy) zamiast chłopcy, "kasa" zamiast pieniądze i "gadać" zamiast rozmawiać z przyjaciółmi! Czyni to magazyny bardziej atrakcyjne i łatwiejsze do zrozumienia dla nastolatków .
Jednak z poważniejszej strony, wiele magazynów dla dziewcząt może pomóc nastolatkom znaleźć rozwiązanie problemów, o których nie czują się komfortowo rozmawiać z rodzicami. Dlatego działy o problemach są tak popularne. W rzeczywistości, wiele nastoletnich dziewczyn kupuje je tylko dla stron o problemach. A co z tobą? Co najbardziej lubisz w swoim ulubionym magazynie???
