3. Complete the text using past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous.

Hi John,

You won’t believe what happened to me yesterday! I .................... (ride) my bicycle to
school as usual when a car suddenly .................... (drive) into the bike lane. I braked
sharply and fell off the bike. It .................... (take) me a while to get up and by that time
the car .................... (already/go). I had to go to hospital to have my wrist and leg bandaged. Unfortunately, my wrist .................... (hurt) for a longer while before the accident so now
it hurts even more. I hope I’ll get better soon and can cycle again.

    school as usual when a car suddenly drove(drive) into the bike lane. I braked
    sharply and fell off the bike. It took (take) me a while to get up and by that time
    the car had already gone (already/go). I had to go to hospital to have my wrist and leg bandaged. Unfortunately, my wrist had been hurting (hurt) for a longer while before the accident so now
    it hurts even more. I hope I’ll get better soon and can cycle again.
