    Childhood and youth

Alexander Graham Bell, born on March 3, 1847 in Scotland, Endenburgu, and died August 2, 1922 at his home in Canada. He was the eldest child of Eliza and Alexander Graham Bell. The inventor, although he was not deaf, he attended a school for the deaf, and indeed probably only for the fact that his father was the owner and director of the building. It was there that he learned sign language and lip reading. After graduation, the young Alexander began his studies at the Technical University in his hometown and began his career there to do science. Educated as a doctor and Bell was a teacher for the deaf. Alexander has since childhood been fascinated by electricity and the possibility of using it to transfer and sound reinforcement. His passion was to develop a device that would allow people to hear or hearing impairments. The inspiration of this idea certainly was his mother-a person whose hearing is impaired, and faith gave him? Era of steam and electricity?. The phone was in that case? By-product? in achieving dreams Bella.

    Moving to Canada
In 1870, Bell very seriously ill with pneumonia. Fortunately, he recovered and went to Canada for rehabilitation after an illness. In the course of treatment (1872) he was offered the position of professor of physiology at the University of the sound, it's where he met future wife, Mabel Hubbard. Even then, it has become obvious matter that Bell never returned to his hometown. Mabel's father was a very wealthy man, and seeing the hope in the idea-in-law for his daughter who, like Bella's mother was a hearing impaired person who financed the first small laboratory. When working in the lab helped him Tomas Watson. It is to him, Bell made the first telephone conversation, when poured on pants with battery acid. Words spoken by phone rang:? Mr. Watson, please come here, I need you? (? Mr. Watson - come here - I want to see you.?). It is memorable, as it turned out, calling Bell noted in his journal the laboratory 10 March 1876 year. These words already passed in the history of mankind.

    How was phone?
The first fruits of the work in the laboratory was the earphone and microphone. With the electrical connection device created to strengthen the voice. But it was too much to require too much power sources to enable them to move. Work on this device took more than three years, Alexander worked sometimes at night, should not be surprised is that Bell was so unhappy with their results. However, his wife gave him the idea to connect the handset with a microphone. Two such inventions connected with each other, with the pomace cable have resulted in the possibility of distance communication. Alexander is a device called the telephone (tele? Remote Phonetics? Phonetics? Speech). Drawing on the left side comes from the journal, the lab Graham
From the above figure can be seen that the first phone had no dial or tone. All interviews took place over an operator that connects the speaker to the desired subscriber, and the principle of operation of the phone can be explained as follows:
"Used in phone diaphragm, or membrane, was so delicate that quivered under the influence of the human voice. Bell put it next to an electromagnet. Vibration diaphragm led to changes in the magnetic field and consequently to changes in electrical current in the circuit of the electromagnet. Attached to the system battery was designed to strengthen, sent the distance signal. At the other end of wire signal is converted back into vibration by a similar device. Photo Bella first camera is shown in Figure 2?

Difficult beginnings and a great success
Initially, the phone has not elicited much interest, and try to sell this device was not successful. Everything changed after the exhibition at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. The local judges so much delighted the invention that Bell received $ 50,000 from the Philadelphia Society for the Scientific and began with the father-produce his invention. That was the Bell family company Telephone Company, which later was converted into AT & T.

    Even more inventions
The inventor of the phone did not rest on his laurels. After the success Alexander founded a network of laboratories that after the death of the inventor named it Bell Laboratories. Over the years constructed a number of facilities, including the desired hearing aid for the deaf. Eighteen of them was the idea of Alexander Graham Bell, and twelve other co-wrote.
The elderly's age Alexander Graham Bell became interested in aviation and airplanes. He sponsored two Wright brothers. It was invented for them, folding wings, flaps controlled by the steel links. He got the idea to attach floats to the aircraft instead of wheels, thus invented the hydroplane.
The inventor is also co-founder of Science and National Geographic - two very well-known magazines in today's times.
