The Arabs waited in silence. On one side of the canyon there was a small white boy, and on the other a huge, golden animal: the master with the big head, as they call a lion in Sudan . The boy took the gun and forgot that he was scared. Then, he moved slowly towards the lion. The lion was ready to jump down.

Arabowie czekali w milczeniu. Z jednej strony kanionu był mały biały chłopiec, az drugiej ogromne złote zwierze : kapitan z wielką głową, jak to się lew w Sudanie. Chłopiec wziął pistolet i zapomniał, że był przerażony. Następnie przeniósł się powoli w kierunku lwa. lew był gotowy do skoku w dół.
