My Kind of Day
Hi my name is Joan I’m 17 my typical Day starts at 6.30. I hate the ring of my alarm clock yet 1 can do nothing about it but get out of bed to press the button I deliberately leave my alarm clock on the window sill far from my bedside table otherwise I might switch it off and fall asleep again then I turn the radio on and listen to some music watching the world through my bedroom window at the same time It takes me two or three minutes and then I rush to the bathroom and have a shower luckily the others get up later so I’m always the first in the bathroom I like washing my hair every day otherwise my hair looks awful at least I feel that way then the usual things while drying

Hair I put the kettle and make myself a coffee a I always add some milk but no sugar guess why sometimes have a sandwich for my breakfast sometimes only a banana I never feel hungry in the morning then I grab my bag and rush to school I’m the first to leave my parents start their day when I’m already gone I hate the morning traffic In winter when its still dark pale and tired people push their way onto the bus Its so depressing there are never any seats available yet when I arrive at school everything changes I have a few close friends in my class so we always have a chat before the bell rings some lessons drag on for ages some are so interesting that you wish they would last longer then the final bell rings and everybody leaves the school building some of the students don’t rush anywhere they hang around at the gate and talk arrange their afternoons or lead those unfinished discussions I must rush I have a younger brother who I have to pick up from the kindergarten my parents both work till late afternoon so its my duty to look after jerry while they re out my favorite day is Sunday on Sundays I let myself enjoy a lie-in till noon during Saturdays I hardly ever go to bed before midnight there’s always something to do last summer I took up horse-riding and I go to the stable twice a week I’m also keen on curling but playing it is possible only in winter in my town there’s no skating –ring which opens all year round meeting friends is my favorite pastime sometimes we meet at my place sometimes we go to the cinema or to disco that’s why I’m so tired on a Sunday morning Sunday afternoons are very busy for me I have to catch up witch my homework since I never have time to do it on week days playing with my brother keeps me occupied after school when my parents are back from work we talk about what has happened during the day cook something for our supper and its getting late so fast.
