W języku angielskim są krótkie samogłoski i długie, np 'a' (black) lub 'a:'- to wymawiamy gardłowo i brzmi jako ar, ale te r jest prawie wogóle niesłyszalne, tak jakby uciekało.
large - wymawiamy jako lardż
over - ołver - tak jak w alfabecie litere 'o' czytamy jak oł
save -sejw
offices - offycys
world - łerld
