History of Yosemite Valley has been home for centuries, and Pajutów Miwok Indians who lived there in peace until the outbreak of the gold rush in California. Yosemite name derives from an Indian word for grizzly bear, which is a tribal totem native inhabitants of these lands.It is believed that the first white men saw Yosemite Valley from the top, not entering it, they were trappers, led by Joseph Walker Reddeforda. That was in 1833. Probably they saw from the top of Yosemite Falls. The year 1851 is considered the year in which the Yosemite Valley for the first time he put his foot white man. Soon this place became famous, attracting painters and nature lovers.
