In 1797, in southern France, some hunters found a strange boy in the woods. He was about nine and wos completely wild. They took him back to yhe village and he lived with a local woman. While he was with her he escaped twice and ran back to the woods. In June 1800, he finally came out pf the woods himself.
Nobody could find out anything about the boy because he couldn't speak or understand French. They called him Victor. Victor ate strange food: he didn't eat fruit or vegetables, he ate leaves and plants. Of course, he could climb trees easily and was happiest in the woods. When he was about fourten, he met Doctor Gaspard Itard. The doctor wanted to study the wild boy and tried to teach hi to speak. Aftersome years. victor could understand quite a lot of French. He could also read simple words but he couldn't say more than two words. One of them was lait (milk).
Victor died in Paris in 1828 at the age of forty. In 1970, the French film director, Francois Truffaut, made a famous film about Victor's life called L'Enfant Sauvage(The Wild Boy).

W 1797 roku w południowej Francji, niektórzy myśliwi odkryli dziwnego chłopca w lesie. Miał około dziewięć lat i był całkowicie dziki. Zabrali go z powrotem do wsi i mieszkał z miejscową kobietą. Podczas gdy on był z nią dwa razy uciekł i pobiegł z powrotem do lasu. W czerwcu 1800 roku w końcu wyszedł z lasu sam.
Nikt nie mógł dowiedzieć się czegokolwiek o chłopcu, bo nie umiał mówić i nie rozumiał po francusku. Nazywano go Wiktor. Wiktor jadł dziwne jedzenie: nie jadł owoców i warzyw, jadł liście i rośliny. Oczywiście, mógł wspinać się na drzewa i był najszczęśliwszy w lesie. Kiedy miał około czternastu lat spotkał Doktora Gasparda Itarda. Lekarz chciał uczyć dzikiego chłopca i próbował nauczyć go mówić. Kilka lat później.Wiktor mógł zrozumieć sporo francuskim. Mógł również czytać proste słowa, ale nie może powiedzieć więcej niż dwa słowa. Jednym z nich był lait (mleko).
